Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has apologised to his Sheffield counterpart, Chris Wilder after both managers were involved in a touchline row during a Premier League game on Thursday night at Bramall lane.
United got the better of Wilder’s men in their own backyard thanks to Marcus Rashford’s brace and an Anthony Martial strike which ensured the Red Devil’s defeat Sheffield 3 – 2.
But, the low point of a seemingly electrifying encounter occurred when Solskjaer and Wilder had a heated argument over a late tackle on Rashford from Ethan Ampadu.
Explaining the incident after the game, Solskjaer admitted that he was too confrontational in the manner he handled the situation in front of him.
“I don’t mind a fair tackle but there was a couple right in front of me,” he told Amazon Prime Video.
“But it’s one of these games that these boys will learn from, it’s a proper game and it’s how football should be.
“I apologised, I went maybe overboard with a word but we’ll have a drink afterwards.”
