The World Athletics have listed Nigerian sprint star Tobi Amusan among athletes expected to compete at the 2023 World Championship.
The global Championship is scheduled between August 19 and 27 at Budapest, Hungary.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) initially suspended Amusan for missing three consecutive tests but has now been given the go ahead to represent Nigeria at the competition which she won last at a world record time.
Amusan was omitted from the Nigeria’s list following her suspension.
Amusan stunned the World last year after she clinched the Women’s 100m hurdles final.
She followed the Championship performance with a Commonwealth Gold.
Amusan had remained in contention to compete pending her appeal.
If she eventually wins her appeal, she then stands a chance to defend her title.
Of the 44 individual winners from the 2022 edition in Oregon, 38 are entered to defend their titles in Budapest.
Already, World Athletics have confirmed that more than 2100 athletes from 202 teams intend to compete at Hungary’s new National Athletics Centre.
Promininet among them is Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who is seeking a record-extending sixth world 100m title after she led a Jamaican sweep of the medals last year, winning a championship record of 10.67.
Pawel Fajdek also has the chance to secure a sixth gold medal, having won the past five consecutive world hammer titles.
