Chioma Nnadi, of Nigerian and Swiss-German heritage, has been named the Head of Editorial Content at British Vogue, Succeeding Edward Enninful.
Edward, a British stylist with Ghanaian roots, had previously announced his retirement as the magazine’s first male and first black editor back in June.
The 44-year-old Chioma will be recognized as Head of Editorial Content rather than Editor-in-Chief, marking a significant milestone as the first black woman to lead the renowned fashion publication.
Chioma expressed her excitement through an Instagram post on Monday, expressing her profound gratitude for the opportunity. She stated, “I’m so thrilled to announce that I’m the new head of editorial content for @britishvogue. Huge thanks to Anna Wintour, @edward_enninful, and Roger Lynch for giving me this opportunity. I’m truly honoured and so excited to be coming home. Stay tuned! And thank you @stefanruizphoto for the photo.”
Chioma Nnadi will officially assume her new role on October 9, 2023.
