Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and other clubs appear to be already preparing to capture the attention of Victor Osimhen ahead of the January transfer window.
The said interested clubs are possibly targeting to profit from the strained relationship that the top football star has with Napoli.
According to Manchester United Evening, any of the Premiership sides could offer Osimhen an escape route from the Serie A club.
The Nigerian has fallen out with his club after spearheading their successful title charge last term.
This came in the aftermath of two clips uploaded on the club’s official social media team, apparently mocking the striker for missing a penalty against Bologna, going viral on social media over the weekend.
Osimhen has now deleted all posts that contain references to Napoli from his Instagram account, indicating that the player may be desperate to leave the club.
His current club have now written a public statement stating why they put up the viral video.
It remains to be seen whether Osimhen will feature for Napoli in their top-flight fixture away against Lecce on Saturday.
Osimhen was high on Erik ten Hag’s summer wishlist of top-class centre-forward during the transfer window before eventually signing Rasmus Hojlund from fellow Serie A side Atalanta.
The Nigerian international, who is under contract in Naples until June 2025, has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe since joining the Partenopei in July 2020, scoring 63 goals in 108 appearances for Napoli across all competitions.
The Lagos-born striker scored 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances last season to win the Golden Boot, and he has since found the net four times in seven games this term.
