A Ghanaian coach identified as Iddrisu Suweidu has reportedly descended and beaten a female referee Mohammed Sakina to a pulp while she was officiating a match.
Suweidu is said to be the head coach of a women’s Division One B side, Tiyumba Ladies FC, in Ghana.
According to Ghana Web, Suweidu reportedly attacked the referee during his side’s home match against Soccer Missionaries Ladies FC in Tamale.
Report said he invaded the pitch and launched a brutal assault on the centre referee after she awarded an indirect free-kick against his team who were leading 1-0.
After the attack, the referee sustained various degrees of injuries and was eventually rushed to Tamale Technical University Hospital for medical attention.
Already, the police said it has launched a manhunt for coach Suweidu who is now at large.
