Northern Governors have commended former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his patriotism and dedication to the unity, peace and development of Nigeria.
The commendation was contained in a message sent to Dr Jonathan on the occasion of his 63rd birthday celebration.
The Chairman of the forum and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, in a statement by his spokesman, Makut Macham, described Jonathan as a true democrat.
The statement notes that the former Bayelsa State Governor’s passion for the growth of democracy was reflected not only in his records in office but also in his current international engagements.
The governors who observed that Jonathan has successfully monitored elections in many countries and engaged with top stakeholders, commended the former President for his patriotism and dedication to the unity, peace and development of Nigeria.
They urged him to remain focused in his service “which has brought honour and goodwill to Nigeria”.
The forum also wished Jonathan many more years of good health, peace and happiness.
