Nigeria will take part in the upcoming Africa Paralympic Games scheduled for Accra, Ghana, between September 3 and 12, 2023.
This was disclosed by the President of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), Sunday Odebode, on Tuesday.
Odebode said the Nigerian athletes who will participate in Wheelchair Basketball (male and female), Wheelchair Tennis (male and female), and Amputee Athletics (male and female), have been training hard for the Games and they are fully ready for the podium to make the country proud.
He said, “I can state categorically that the team are fully ready, and we are well prepared for the Games. Though it is not going to be an easy ride, with the level of preparation adequately put in place, our athletes are in fully in top gear, well equipped and prepared for the Games.”
Also speaking, the PCN Secretary, Isah Suleiman, assured that all hands are on deck to ensure a successful outing for Team Nigeria, stressing that the athletes are in a good frame of mind to make the country proud.
The Games, is expected to serve as a prelude tournament for the Africa Games scheduled for same country in 2024.
Generally, the Nigerian paralympians have been on the Vanguard of hauling medals for the country in various international competitions.
