Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will miss an international friendly clash between Portugal and Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Thursday November 17, 2022 at the Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon.
His coach Fernando Santos who confirmed the latest development barely 24 hours to the match, said the embattled Manchester striker is suffering from stomach bug which ruled him out.
The Portugal national team is using the game to prepare for the 2022 World Cup appearance with their first match scheduled on Monday November 21 against Ghana.
The Black stars of Ghana, one of the participating African teams stopped the Super Eagles from qualifying for this year’s mundial.
Ronaldo was one of the players who reported early to camp but missed the team training on Wednesday due to illness.
He has been in the news for the wrong reasons in the past days over his interview in which he accused Manchester United of betrayal.
Though, the club is yet to take action over his outburst, Ronaldo is not likely to play for the Red Devils again.
