Liverpool could dent Manchester United Premier League aspiration this season when they visit Old Trafford on Sunday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are 13 points behind Manchester City who are now on the brink of Premier League glory, which would be determined by the outcome of United clash with Liverpool.
Liverpool on the other hand have endured a terrible start to the season with a number of their key players sidelined through to injuries.
While the race for the top-four is still open, Jurgen Klopp’s side would keep that ambition alive with a win over the Red Devils so as to close the gap at fourth placed Chelsea, with four matches remaining to round off the campaign.
Meanwhile, United’s form against the ‘big six’ this season could peg back City’s hope of being crowned winners with few games to spare. Thus, it is left for Klopp to put in display his tactical prowess against United.
Also, a United draw would effectively secure the title for City because Solskjaer’s side would only be able to reach 80 points and City have a vastly superior goal difference – but they would have to wait for confirmation.
But just three more points will guarantee City the title regardless of what their rivals do.
If City are not crowned on Sunday, victory at home to Chelsea on Saturday May 8 would seal it.
And if they fail to win – and Manchester United won their next two at home to Liverpool and away to Aston Villa – the game at Newcastle on May 12 could be decisive.
