Arsenal have been crowned champions of the Premier League for the first time in 22 years after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The result on England’s south coast officially handed the title to Arsenal, ending more than two decades of heartbreak and near misses for the North London side.
City needed a victory to keep the title race alive, but Pep Guardiola’s men failed to secure the crucial win, allowing Arsenal supporters around the world to erupt in celebration.
The triumph marks Arsenal’s first league crown since the famous 2003/2004 “Invincibles” season, when the club, under legendary manager Arsène Wenger, went through the entire campaign unbeaten.
Since then, the Gunners had endured years of rebuilding, managerial changes, and repeated disappointment in their quest to return to the summit of English football.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have gradually transformed into one of Europe’s most formidable sides, combining youthful energy with tactical discipline. Their consistency throughout the season ultimately proved decisive in a fiercely contested title race against reigning champions Manchester City.
Fans flooded the streets around the Emirates Stadium following confirmation of the result, celebrating what many described as a historic moment for the club and its supporters worldwide.
The title victory also represents a major milestone for Arteta, who has now delivered Arsenal’s long-awaited return to domestic dominance after years of City’s superiority under Guardiola.
