A bomb threat that triggered the evacuation of the Egyptian Embassy and French Consulate in Athens, Greece, has been declared a prank after police found no explosives at the diplomatic missions.
Greek authorities said an anonymous caller alerted the two missions in central Athens on Friday, claiming bombs had been planted inside the buildings.
Police swiftly evacuated the premises and launched extensive searches of the diplomatic facilities and surrounding areas.
However, security teams found no explosives or suspicious devices, leading authorities to conclude that the threats were a prank.
Several other organisations located near the Egyptian Embassy and French Consulate also received similar threatening calls, prompting additional security checks and evacuations.
Among the facilities affected were the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen.
Meanwhile, Police continued to investigate the source of the calls and the motive behind the coordinated threats.
