A Journalist whose name was not immediately ascertained has been banned for five years by CAF, for sexual abuse of a Moroccan lady during the on-going CHAN.
According to sportsvillagesquare, the banned Journalist was once named as “best sports journalist of all time” in his country Benin Republic.
He works as a media official for CAF on freelance basis.
The journalist was accused of sexually abusing a Moroccan official, after inviting her to his Algiers hotel room, following her request for an all-access pass.
The victim reportedly filed her statement to the Algerian police and the accused journalist has since been sanctioned by the CAF and is believed to have returned to Benin Republic.
CAF is yet to make any official on the latest development.
The ongoing CHAN competition which begun January 13, will end February 4, 2023.
Already, eight quarter-finalists have emerged.
