Ned Nwoko, Nigerian lawyer-cum-politician and husband of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has disclosed that his wives are aware he can decide to marry more wives due to the fact that he would love to have more children.

Ned who made this disclosure in a chat with BBC Igbo said his inclination to having more wives and children can be attributed to his polygamous background.

The politician’s comments come a year after his controversial marriage to Regina Daniels in 2019, a union that has been blessed with a child.

Also speaking during the interview with BBC Igbo, the lawyer said he does not believe in dating before marriage, noting that he got married to all of his wives within the space of one month after meeting them.

“Before I met Regina, I didn’t know about her. I didn’t watch movies. I met her the first time when she came to my house with her mother and her siblings because my place in Delta is a tourist place,” Nwoko said

“They came to look around and I liked her and that was it. So whether I marry another wife or not; she knows it can happen. I come from a very polygamous environment. I love children so I want more children. She knows this.

“My other wives know it. So we will see what happens.”

“There are women everywhere. That’s why you have a lot of them loitering around Zone 4, 5, 6 as sex workers. It’s not because they love the job but that the economy didn’t favour them.

“These are the repercussions of the polygamy that the westerners brought to our country. Before the advent of Christianity, the Igbo tradition allowed for many wives and children.

“That determined the size of wealth you have in those days. An average northerner marries two, three, four.

“They’re helping the women and society. The fallacy of it all is that religion doesn’t allow it in the south. Yet the average southern man has up to 10 girlfriends. The irony is so stark.”

Reacting to Ned’s comments Nigerians took to Twitter to ‘drag’ Regina Daniel for getting hitched to Ned who they described as a ‘chronic polygamous man’.

We bring you some of their reactions.

Regina Daniels & Ned Nwoko's case is just like that of King Of Ibadan, he keeps marrying young & pretty ladies & there's nothing none of them can do. Regina can't have any affairs outside that marriage bcoz there's a custom & oath been taken.

More like she's under bondage.

Nobody is saying marrying a rich guy isn't good. But make sure that is the person you want to share and spend the rest of your life with. Everything is not about money, Regina Daniels got no choice than to live with those old and new wives for the rest of her life.

Tragic.

8wives and none is asking for divorce

The problem is not the amount of wives you have but how much you have

Ned Nwoko hasn't meet his target yet, he is the Solomon of our time. They are hundreds of thousands of girls more beautiful than Regina Daniels.
Meanwhile @itsLaycon is in Uyo.

— Edet Edem Akpan♔ (@edetedemakpan) December 2, 2020

I always say this so far as women always degrade themselves and think so lowly of themselves by pursuing a man’s money , wealthy men like Ned nwoko will continue pulling a regina daniels on them. It is simple ! The disregard from men stems from self disrespect by women….
