Nigerian Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana has revealed what transpired when retired Naval Commodore Kunle Olawunmi, on Tuesday, honoured the invitation of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) by appearing at the headquarters of the security agency.
The DIA had invited the ex-Naval officer on Saturday over some comments he made on Channels Television last Wednesday, an invitation which he honored accompanied by Falana.
On Wednesday, August 25, Olawunmi was a guest on the breakfast show where he spoke for about an hour, sparking intense discussions and concerns offline and online, as he claimed there are terrorist sponsors serving in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, as well as among state governors.
Invitation was a friendly chat – Falana
According to Falana, the invitation was a friendly chat. He said he could confirm that Commodore Olawunmi had a friendly chat with the officers of the DIA.
Falana said he represented the retired military officer during the chat in strict compliance with the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
“I confirm that Commodore Kunle Olawunmi had a friendly chat with the officers at the Defence Intelligence Agency this afternoon,” he said.
“I represented the retired military officer during the chat in strict compliance with the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act,” he said.
