SC Napoli of Italy Striker, Victor Osimhen has assured Nigerians of the team’s preparedness to triumph over Sierra Leone in Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin, Edo State.
Osimhen, expressed happiness over his return to the Super Eagles squad, having missed the friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia due to COVID-19 threat.
The Super Eagles lead group L with six points from two games while their opponent is at the bottom with just 1 point. However, the striker had stressed that the game will not be easy.
“It’s a good feeling to be back to the squad and I’m really happy and I think the team is ready for the game on Friday against Sierra Leone.
“Nigerians should expect victory from us, but the game will not be easy for us, we have to prepare well and give everything to win this match.
In adherence to the directives from the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, the game would be played in the absence of fans. Osimhen reacting to this, said: “It’s disappointing that fans will not be allowed to watch the game in the stadium but we understand the COVID-19 situation and we will do our best.”
The 21 – year – old, arrived Naples from French club, Lille this summer, for a record fee of 80 million Euros on the back of his eye catching performance last season, scoring 18 goals in 38 games.
The former Golden Eaglets star, will be hoping to find the net in succession after he scored for Napoli in their league win over Bologna before the international Break.
