Former Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (retd.), has strongly debunked allegations that he paid money to the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, to secure an extension of his tenure, describing the claims as false, malicious, and a calculated attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Ndiomu also disclosed that he has petitioned the appropriate investigative authorities to identify and prosecute those behind what he described as a coordinated campaign of misinformation.
See his full statement below:
“I wish to state categorically and unequivocally that the allegations being circulated against my person, claiming that I paid funds to the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, in order to remain in office as Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), are entirely false, baseless, malicious, and deliberately misleading. The PAP is an agency under the ONSA and has no connection with the office of the COS in the Presidency.
“These unfounded allegations are nothing more than a calculated attempt to tarnish my hard-earned reputation, integrity, and years of dedicated service to our nation. For the avoidance of doubt, I was duly appointed by the late President Muhammadu Buhari and served my tenure strictly in accordance with the terms and duration stipulated in my letter of appointment. At no time did I engage in, authorize, or participate in any act remotely resembling the false claims being propagated by mischief-makers.
“I therefore condemn in the strongest possible terms this reckless campaign of misinformation being orchestrated by unscrupulous individuals through social media and other platforms. The allegations are entirely fabricated, devoid of any factual basis, and designed solely to deceive the public, malign my character, and undermine my contributions to national service. A report has been made to the relevant investigative authorities to unravel those behind this malicious fabrication with a view to ensuring they are brought to justice.
“I urge members of the public, stakeholders, friends, associates, and the media to disregard these malicious claims in their entirety. They should be treated with the contempt they deserve, as they represent nothing more than a desperate and coordinated effort to spread falsehood”.
